The sun rolled in my window and I woke with a jump. It was the 4th of July. I almost fell down the stairs and hit my dog. I was very tired. My mom was making eggs and bacon. My sister was very excited that today was the 4th of July because it was her favorite holiday. There was going to be a 4th of July parade where you decorate yourself and your bike, scooter, or those little electric cars and any thing else you can think of. I hoped the parade would be great.
“WOOF!” My dog howled. The parade seemed so big, it was loud and crazy. We only had to ride our bikes around a medium sized circle that had no hills and we didn’t see a single person watching (Well I didn’t. I was expecting more. After the parade there was a pool party. My pool is just a bib rectangle and on the 4th of July it is a sea of people. They had belly flop contest (For all ages), quarter diving contests, and relay races. That was only the fun of the daytime.
At night the fun is even better, because the kids get to play hide and go seek tag in the dark. It is so much fun. We play in the backyard of my house and my neighbor’s house (they have a swing set that you can hide in) we also play in and the front yard of my house and my neighbor’s house.
“1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10…!” The big kids yell. All the little kids always hide in the same spot, so they are really easy to find. This last 4th of July the little kid s wanted to win hide and go seek tag, so the made new plans. They would not hide in the same spot every time, they would split up instead of being in a group all looking in the same area. That year I think the little kids almost beat the big kid, but the big kids had to count one last time and they got all the little kids out, because they ran though the shadows like burglars trying to steal something from a house. They hoped the fences instead of using the loud gate. The reason that I think they won was because they were as quiet and sneaky as a mouse trying to steal a piece of cheese out of a mousetrap. That proves that bigger kids are better than little kids at hide and go seek tag. Little kids need to learn how to play tag, too
The wonderful morning after 4th of July everybody wishes that they were waking up to another great 4th of July. They always talk about how much fun hide and go seek tag the night before. They talk about having another hide and go seek tag game that night so they can have the same experience again and have way more fun and maybe the little kids will beat the big kids.
